About Oysterware
Cooking
Your new Oysterware shells are oven-safe to 500F in the oven, broiler and grill but they must be treated with care. Do not put them in cold water or the refrigerator when hot. This can cause cracking of the shell or crazing (tiny cracks) of the glaze.
Cleaning
While our cooking/serving shells are technically “dishwasher-safe”, we recommend hand washing them in hot, soapy water then towel drying.
Storage
Porcelain is a wonderfully durable material when properly fired and glazed but you should take care in stacking them for storage. The edges can chip or crack if not treated with love.
